IAMLE

IAMLE is a non-profitable, charitable, educational trust with primary aim to provide the educational, medical, legal etc. support and guidance to the students, practitioners and teachers from various streams of medical sciences including forensic medicine, forensic sciences and law, forensic scientists, law officers, judges, nurses, paramedics, general public and all others related to/dealing with medico legal issues directly or indirectly. Workings in the field for more than a decade, it was formally registered in year 2022 in the State of UP vide No. 05999765913050.

NEIGRIHMS

Established in 1987, NEIGRIHMS has been intended to be a postgraduate medical institution like AIIMS (New Delhi) and PGIMER (Chandigarh). It was the first postgraduate medical institution in the North Eastern region, and the third in the Country established by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

DEPARTMENT OF FORENSIC MEDICINE, NEIGRIHMS

The Department of Forensic Medicine had a humble beginning in February 2009 with the recruitment of a single faculty member. The initial objective of setting up the department was to create an environment suitable for teaching and training students of the MBBS course.

Currently, the department is having 3 faculties with 3 post-graduate admissions and two Senior Residents per year. The department has now recently set up “Virtual Autopsy Centre” which is second of its kind in India after AIIMS, New Delhi. In addition to this, the department is in process to start its own Toxicology Laboratory using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) in addition to the Histopathological lab and Serology lab.

SHILLONG, MEGHALAYA

Shillong is a hill station and the capital of Meghalaya and the only hill station in the country that is accessible from all directions. The name Shillong is derived from U-Shillong, a powerful deity and is situated at an altitude of 1,491m above sea level. The city lies in the centre of a plateau and is surrounded by hills. This beautiful city is about 103 kms from Guwahati. The presence of many well reputed educational institutions, many of them established by various missionary groups make Shillong the hub of education for the entire north-east. Meghalaya is also famous for heavy rainfall, caves, tallest waterfalls, beautiful landscapes and amazing people and their culture.
